Hey beautiful bride-to-be!

If you're a week (or even days!) away from saying I do, first—deep breaths. You've done the planning, the Pinterest-ing, and now it's almost time to just enjoy the magic. As your photographer, I want to make sure you're fully prepped for photo moments you'll love forever.

Here are 10 quick last-minute wedding photo tips to help you look and feel amazing on your big day:

1. Steam Those Outfits Early

Wrinkles show up in photos. Plan time the night before (or morning of) to steam your dress, veil, suit, or anything else that made the final wardrobe cut.

2. Keep Your Getting-Ready Space Clean(ish)

Toss those coffee cups, hanger bags, and clutter in one corner. A tidy room = prettier “getting ready” shots with you + your people.

3.Lay Out the Details

Place your invitation suite, jewelry, shoes, perfume, vow books, rings, and florals in one spot. I’ll photograph these first so you can focus on hair and makeup.

5. Practice the Veil & Bustle Before the Big Day

Do a quick run-through with someone close to you—like your maid of honor or mom—on how to attach, fluff, and even toss your veil for photos. Also, make sure they know how to bustle your dress! Some bustles are tricky, and we don’t want to waste precious reception time trying to figure it out. A little prep now saves stress later.

6. Pack Touch-Up Essentials

Blotting papers, lipstick, bobby pins, fashion tape, and deodorant—just throw it all in a clutch or hand it off to your MOH. You'll thank yourself.

7. Break In Your Shoes (Even Just a Little)

Even if you’ve only got a few days left, wear your wedding shoes around the house for short bursts. It'll help soften them up and prevent blisters—trust me, your feet will thank you.

8.Eat Something Before You Walk Down the Aisle

Between hair, makeup, nerves, and timelines, eating often gets skipped. But nobody wants a dizzy bride. A small protein-packed snack can keep your energy up for those long ceremony and photo stretches, especially when its hot.

9. Don’t Over-Schedule the Morning

Hair, makeup, breakfast, bonding… yes. But too many extras (like extra errands or DIYs) can lead to rushed energy. Keep your morning slow and meaningful—you’ll feel more grounded, and your photos will reflect that.

10. Make a “Do Not Forget” List for the Morning

Write down the non-negotiables: rings, vows, marriage license, perfume, etc. Assign a bridesmaid to double-check. The fewer “oh no!” moments, the better the vibe.

11. Practice Holding Your Bouquet Lower

In the moment, brides often hold their bouquet too high (hello, shoulder flowers 😅). The sweet spot? Just around your belly button. It looks more natural and elegant in photos.

12. Ask Guests to Pause Photos (at least for key moments)

Phones can block the first kiss, first dance, or aisle walk. Gently ask guests to be present—or let me capture the magic while they enjoy the moment in real life.

13. Smile Through the Ceremony

It’s easy to focus on nerves, vows, or timing—but don’t forget to smile. Look at your partner, soak it all in. Those joy-filled expressions make the most timeless images.

14. Set a Dress Code If You Care About the Vibe

If you’re dreaming of elegant, cohesive photos—don’t be afraid to gently guide your guests. What people wear makes a big difference in your overall gallery. If someone shows up in cargo shorts at your garden ceremony... well, that sticks out. Whether your vibe is black tie, beach formal, or "dressy casual," include a note on your invite or website. Guests actually appreciate the clarity, and your photos will look polished and intentional.

15. Let Go of What You Can’t Control.

Wind, a wrinkle, a late guest—some things just won’t go as planned. But honestly? The imperfect stuff often makes the best memories and most heartfelt photos. Focus on the love, not the logistics.

If you have any last-minute questions or want to tweak anything in your timeline, I'm just a message away.

Can’t wait to capture your love story. Let’s make it unforgettable.
